A steering stabilizer typically does not wear out as fast as a shock, it does not get the same abuse as a shock abosorber or strut.
A stabilizer is a slow gradual movement with the steering, and only goes back an forth a few inches. However, most Customers prefer to change the cylinder at the sametime they do their shocks as preventive maintenance.
In most cases, you must ALREADY HAVE A FACTORY steering stabilizer on the vehicle to use this replacement cylinder. It is not an “add-on” part.
When indicated in our online catalog, a Monroe SA1997 boot can be ordered to help protect your new cylinder.
